I’m an education researcher & organizational theorist who studies networks and belonging.

Being both a researcher & practitioner, I see the vital need to blend theory & praxis to develop real-world applications for academic scholarship. I love creating cross-disciplinary research collaborations that broker across academic & industry silos.

My current research focuses on the intersection of networked technology, counterstorytelling, & social capital.

I’m all about research, design, and storytelling that brokers for & from the edges. I believe as individuals we are too compartmentalized and as a society we are too siloed. And implicit bias undergirds the formation and maintenance of these social and ideological factions.

I’ve dedicated my career to the powerful stories of individuals and communities who have been pushed to the margins. It is my belief that the people who hold these stories are the ones with the power and insight to counter implicit biases and uproot inequities within our institutions, systems, and communities.

We each hold the responsibility to learn two things: (1) when and how to speak up and share our story, and (2) when and how to cede space for the voice and leadership of those currently on the edges.
